Registration is only possible online at www.igc2012.org. Registrations will only be accepted up to and including 15.07.2012.

 

A list of registration fees can be found on the congress website. The fees published there are final. Fees diverging from the values given here are invalid.

 

Participants are to pay congress fees and the cost of any other events booked (e.g. congress dinner, receptions, field trips etc.) by credit card when booking online. Bank transfers will not be accepted. Participation in the congress is only possible when fees are paid in full in advance, and enter the congress account before the beginning of the congress. Day tickets may be purchased subject to availability. These may be purchased directly at the congress using a credit card or cash. 

 

Online registration is binding. Bookings may only be cancelled in writing. The following deadlines and fees apply, irrespective of the reason for cancellation:

Cancellation up to and including 10.04.2012: 100% refund.

Cancellation up to and including 31.07.2012:   50% refund

Cancellation up to and including 01.08.2012:      no refund

 

The congress programme may be subject to change.

 

All participants are required to register personally at the congress check-in. Here they will receive the congress documents with a congress pass entitling them to attend all booked events. 

 

The congress organisers are permitted to take photographs in the course of the congress and to publish these.

 

By registering, participants agree to the storage of personal data for the purpose of organising the congress. 

 

As a result of a natural disaster, an official directive or for reasons of security, the congress may be cancelled or changed. Should a participant be unable to attend as a result of such a change or if it is therefore unreasonable to expect attendance, the registration fee will be refunded. No further claims are possible, except in the case of deliberate or grossly negligent acts on the part of the legal representatives, employees or other agents of the organisers.

Liability for injury to persons is limited to the extent covered by the organisers’ standard personal liability insurance. The organisers are not liable for subsequent damage or objects stored.

 

Online registration is binding. The following booking deadlines apply:

Half-day and one-day field trips: up to and including 01.06.2012

Longer field trips: up to and including 10.04.2012.

 

Cancellations must be submitted in written form. The following deadlines and fees apply irrespective of the reasons for cancellation:

Up to and including 10.04.2012: 100% refund.

Up to and including 31.07.2012:  50% refund.

From 01.08.2012:  no refund.

 

A minimum number of participants are required for all field trips. Should this figure not be reached by the expiry of the deadline, the field trip will not take place. In this case the registered participants will receive a full refund of their field trip fees. Costs arising through the cancellation of a field trip (e.g. alteration of flight bookings, hotels etc.) cannot be refunded.

 

As the organiser of the congress, the German Geographical Society is only an agent for the booking of field trips. The respective field trip leaders bear responsibility for the content, organisation and financial planning of each field trip.

 

Participation in field trips is voluntary and is undertaken on the participants’ own responsibility. 

 

If one or more of these conditions should be or become invalid, the remaining conditions will continue to be valid and apply. Change or amendments must be submitted in writing.
